Beauty...

We all have different takes on it, all around the world, everyone has different ideas on what is and what isn't attractive. There's a saying that goes like this; "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, but in today's society, we seem to be attempting to mold a certain standard for what is appealing to who. In the media, we seem to be exposed to the same sort of standards for "beauty", not just for women and girls, but for men and boys as well.

All these commercials and media are basically sending the same message: If you look this way  then you will be revered and everyone will treat you with respect. This then, of course leads some who do not look exactly the same way to resort to all sorts of measures, just to fit in with what only some see as appealing in their eyes. By doing that, they not only kill their esteem knowing that they'll never look exactly the same as that "pretty" model on tv, but they risk damaging themselves trying to "fix their flaws" that were never even noticeable or even there at all.

Many people die every day from suicide, some die because they "weren't pretty enough", or they were brainwashed into believing all the insults hurled at them by bullies. In reality, they were people who could have become something great, but they died chasing after so-called "beauty". They let words bring them down when they actually were unique, beautiful people. It's a tragedy that should never happen.

Yes, I know this sounds rather preachy, but it's the truth. You are beautiful, and so is everyone in this world. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, it just takes the right person to see it. So do not let anyone bring you down with their words, because you are perfect just the way you are.
